Strong Magnitude 7.0 Earthquake in southern Lau is the third M7+ earthquake in the region in the last 3 days. A M7.0 (as well as a M6.8 & M6.6) occurred south of Fiji on the 9th & a M7.3 in Tonga last night.
A preliminary M7.0 earthquake has occurred in the southern Lau region near Ono-i-Lau at 7:09pm FJT, however, due to its deep depth won’t pose a threat for any tsunami.
