Major X2.9 Solar Flare | May 27, 2024

Departed Active Region 13664 just behind the eastern limb is returning and it just unleashed another major X-Flare peaking to X2.9 at 07:08 UTC May 27 causing a strong R3 level radio blackout over Asia. A strong CME associated with this blast flare is heading well to the west of the earth and will not have an earth bound component. This active region was responsible for 12 X-Class solar flares last rotation and promises to deliver more over the next two weeks. This region will be reassigned a new number once it officially turns the eastern limb in the next 48 hours.
