A Major solar flare measuring X1.69 was unleashed from Active Region 13663 in the northern hemisphere at 2:22 UTC today. A Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) has been seen exiting the solar corona but seems to be aimed north, more details will be added later once solar telemetry has been updated. The active region is moving into an earth-facing position so a possible geomagnetic storm could result in 2-3 days where geomagnetic storms could be possible at medium to high latitudes some time May 6th.
