A Major Solar Flare peaking at X1 Class was just observed around AR 2887 at 15:35 UTC. The active region was directly Earth-Facing and the resulting CME directed towards Earth. A Type II Radio Emission with an estimated velocity of 1263 km/s was recorded. An impact past our planet should be expected this weekend and will be good news for aurora sky watchers. Geomagnetic storm watch expected during October 31 into November 1st for a G3 Geomagnetic storm with mid to high latitude auroras expected.
