A strong M9.9 event was detected around AR 3766 at 01:57 UTC. A type II radio emission with an estimated velocity of 943 km/s was recorded. a strong CME is expected to result from this eruption and should have an earth-directed component where geomagnetic storms should be possible mid to high latitudes sometime July 31.
