Strong M8.7 Solar Flare (Active Region 13435) Sep, 21, 2023

ANOTHER M8-CLASS SOLAR FLARE: Active Region 13435 just produced another strong flare. This time a strong M8.7 at 12:54 UTC was recorded by Earth orbiting satellites. The flare also produced an R2- radio blackout. LAtest solar imagery suggests that there is an associated Coronal Mass Ejection(CME) although this event was impulsive and short lasting like yesterdays M-Flare the CME may only be a weak burst, this active region will be directly earth-facing in 48 hours where any large eruptive events will produce earth directed coronal mass ejections and must be watched closely.
