Strong M6.5 Solar Flare (AR 13296) May 9, 2023

An M6.5 Solar Flare was release around AR 13296 at 03:54 Monday morning May 9. This event while in an earth-facing position was shortlisting and impulsive may not have produced a coronal mass ejection.

Geomagnetic storms are expected over the next 24 hours due to a long-duration M-Flare event from May 7th that did send a strong coronal mass ejection (CME) heading earths way. The potential for strong aurora at mid to high latitudes will be possible May 10-11
