Shallow Magnitude 6.4 Earthquake Strikes Luzon, Philippines | March 13, 2022

A strong earthquake registered by the EMSC as M6.4 strikes off the coast of Luzon, Philippines at 21:05 UTC on March 13, 2022. The agency is reporting a shallow depth of 11 km (6.8 miles).  Just four minutes later, at 21:09 UTC, a shallow Magnitude 6.6 Earthquake struck West Sumatra, Indonesia.

The epicenter was located about 67 km (42 miles) WNW of Cabra (population 3 261) and 118 km (73 miles) WSW of Mariveles (population 84 567), Philippines.There are about 20,000 people living within 100 km (62 miles). More than 30 million people are estimated to have felt light shaking.
