A major solar flare (X7.1) the second largest of solar cycle 25 was just unleashed around Earth facing Active Region 13842 peaking at 22:20 UTC October 1st. A type II radio emission with a velocity of 1246 km/s was reported. Not a long duration event and no CME has been seen in latest imagery, any Coronal Mass from this event will have an earth-directed component.
