Active Region 13664 just unleashed a significant X4 Solar Flare at 06:54 UTC. This X4 blast is associated with a Type II radio event with an estimated velocity ofover 1000 km/s, along with a 10cm radio burst measuring 900 SFU and lasting 16 minutes. A coronal mass ejection (CME) is now visible and it appears the main mass is heading slightly west but there will be an earth-directed comment in 2-3 days where geomagnetic storming will be possible at mid to high latitudes sometime May 13.
