A Major X-Class Solar Flare was unleashed off the solar corona from Active Region 13514 on December 14. The Flare peaked to X2.8 at 17:02 UTC the eruption took place just outside of an earth-facing position so the incoming (CME) Coronal Mass Ejections will not be headed to the earth and no geomagnetic storms is expected from todays blast. Two Coronal Mass Ejections (CME’s) are now visible on the Soho Satellite and does look to have an earth-directed component which should provide significant geomagnetic storming sometime today or tomorrow from previous M5 solar flare activity Aurora should be visible at high latitudes.
