A Major X1-Class Solar Flare took place at 20:25 UTC (Oct 2) by Active Region 13110. Only a weak burst of plasma has been released into space and not directly towards our planet. Further large flares are still possible from this Active Region over the next 48 hours with an increased chance for a major X-Class event.
