Major X1.6 Solar Flare | August 5, 2023

A Major X1.6 Solar Flare was just observed around Active Region 13386 approaching the western limb. A long in duration event with a simultaneous Coronal Mass Ejection. The large Halo coronal mass ejection (CME) associated with this event will not have an earth bound component and will miss the earth. This is the fifth strongest solar flare of the current cycle.
