Major M7.5 EARTHQUAKE Strikes South Sandwich Islands | August 12, 2021

An earthquake of magnitude 7.5 struck the South Sandwich Islands region in the South Atlantic Ocean. The U.S. Tsunami Warning System said there was no tsunami warning after the quake. At 18:32 pm UTC, a 7.5 earthquake struck at a depth of 60 KM in the South Sandwich Islands region of the South Atlantic Ocean. It was followed by several aftershocks of 6.2 and 6.0. The initial earthquake was centered at 57.62°S 25.187°W.
