An eruptive X1.2 Solar Flare was reported on Tuesday at 15:18 UTC May 13th. The source was Active Region 14086 now rotating across the western limb. A coronal mass ejection (CME) was released but will not have an earth-directed component and aimed towards Mercury. It must be noted that Mars was making a heliocentric opposition of Mercury at the time of this eruptive event on the solar corona.
