Major X2.1 Solar Flare | October 7, 2024

A strong solar flare event was unleashed around Active Region 13842 at 19:05 UTC October 7. The eruption peaked to X2.1 at 19:13 UTC. and a secondary pulse measuring X1.0 was then observed at 21:01 UTC and a large coronal mass ejection (CME) followed. A type II radio emission with an estimated velocity of 941 km/s was registered. The Coronal Mass will not have an earth-directed component and headed well west of the Sun-Earth line.
