A Major X-Class Solar Flare was unleashed off the solar corona from Active Region 13576 on February 16. The Flare peaked to X2.5 at 06:53 UTC the eruption took place as this active region was rotating off the earth-facing side of the disk therefore no earth directed component of the resulting strong (CME) Coronal Mass Ejection and no geomagnetic storms is expected from todays blast. Todays flare now ranks the fourth strongest solar flare of the current solar cycle.
